A pioneering force in the American craft beer movement since 1989, this Kendall Square institution was one of the first brewpubs in Massachusetts to champion traditional and experimental styles. They were widely celebrated for their barrel-aging program, diverse cask ales, and a farm-to-table culinary approach that prioritized local sustainability. After 35 years of service, the brewery permanently closed its physical taproom in late 2024 as the owner retired, though its legacy brands continue under new acquisition.
